Important Information

 

All student employees are hired through this Student Employment System. The online hiring process is an automated process for students and supervisors. 

F-1 Visa holders: an important reminder that you may not exceed 20 hours of total employment per week while school is in session.

Maximum total earnings during the academic year for students is $4,000.

Please complete Annual Mandatory Anti-Harassment Training within a few days of being hired. 

Student Employee Sick Leave Updates

Important Dates:

  • Wednesday, September 6, 2023 - This is the first day students may begin working on campus for the academic year.
  • Friday, December 15, 2023 - This is the last day students may work on campus for the fall semester.
  • Tuesday, January 23, 2024 - This is the first day that students may begin working on campus for the spring semester.
  • Thursday, May 9, 2024 - This is the last day students may work on campus for the spring semester
  • Please note: Students are not able to work through student employment during winter or summer break.
Class of 2027 Student Employment Information
  • It is College policy that all incoming freshmen students work within Dining Services. An email will be sent to all students who are awarded work-study at the end of June/early July. The email will inform the students of the required employment forms, a Dining Services questionnaire, and other employment information

    Please note: To apply for any of the "Off Campus" Community Service opportunities, a student must have been awarded Federal Work-Study not Skidmore Work-Study as part of their financial aid award.

    Conduct either quick or advanced searches for available jobs. Submit an online job application.

    Please note: Students can not apply for jobs or be hired until the federal required I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form has been completed and submitted to the Financial Aid Office. Please take care of this before you start to apply for jobs on campus! Once the completed I-9 has been submitted to the Financial Aid Office, it will take up to 24 to 48 hours to process.

    When applying for a job students MUST use their Skidmore email address. Any other email address will not be recognized by the system and will hold up the hiring process.

    Students can conduct quick and advanced searches for available jobs and apply directly online. When applying for a job allow time for the individual to respond to you as they are receiving other applications and will be reviewing them before contacting students for an interview. If you have a question about a particular job please contact the person who posted the job opportunity.
